In Y7, we started with the introduction of Pinyin, the spelling of Mandarin pronunciation.
Please use the below website to learn Pinyin prior to Year 8.
We then moved on to follow the Jinbu 1 textbook and learnt about greetings, talking about name and age, and talking about family and pets (the first 2 chapters of Jinbu 1).

We also learnt to describe colours, clothing and body parts towards the end of the year.
You can learn the vocabulary on colours, clothing and body parts in the following songs. Enjoy singing!
In Y7, Students have learnt the basics of character writing and are expected to make simple Mandarin conversations of the above topics and be able to read and write a small paragraph in Chinese characters.
